Executive Director of the Plainview/Hale County Economic Development Corporation Mike Fox was presented with the Top Gun Award during the 2019 High Ground of Texas Annual Membership Meeting om San Angelo on Thursday.

According to their website, The High Ground of Texas is a marketing conglomerate consisting of 75 members with economic development interests in the region. Creating jobs and increasing the tax base of the region is the organization’s main objective.

Fox was awarded the Top Gun Award for displaying support of regionalism and professionalism that brought added value to the organization.

“Mike is a great example of a High Ground Top Gun by his enthusiasm, participation and support of the region. He has been an outstanding member of the High Ground organization,” said Kasey Coker, Executive Director of the High Ground in a press release.

Fox has been the Executive Director of Plainview/Hale County EDC since 2014 after spending 30 years in radio broadcasting and 10 years in finance. He is a member of the Plainview Lions Club, Plainview Chamber of Commerce, Plainview Area United Way and First United Methodist Church. The EDC broke ground on a new 150-acre business park in late 2018 under his direction.

Past recipient of the award Kevin Carter, President and CEO of Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, presented the award to Fox.
